Tryptich is a three day festival at The Hope & Ruin in the middle of January presented by Love Thy Neighbour, and it’s well worth putting on the snow shoes to head down for it. The Friday night is our pick of the bunch with a good, eclectic mix of bands. The evening starts with Skinny Milk, who are guaranteed to warm you up nicely, a psychedelic garage punk duo with such great energy they’re bound to get your feet moving. If that does not get you going then more punk psychedelia from Guru is sure to!
The headliners Heirloom play gloom pop with an intense Gothic sound. There’s plenty of diversity between their singers, Samuel Rivers and Jade Taaffe, who share vocal duties. They put on mesmerising performances and have a great collection of songs. Certainly a band to catch live before they become superstars.
Check Love Thy Neighbour’s Facebook page for details of the other two nights, there’s not much happening in January which gives you a good excuse to immerse yourself completely in their feast of local live music.
