Now residing in our fair city, Scotsman Steve Mason is probably best known as a founder member of experimental group, The Beta Band. In fact, anyone who loves the music scene of the mid to late 90’s will already have a ticket to this show. Having forged his own solo success over the last half decade or so, we are excited for this rescheduled date, belatedly closing the UK leg of his February tour. Fans who bought tickets for the original date at St Bartholomew’s Church should know by now that their tickets are still valid. What is lost without the gorgeous church setting will be gained by the sound quality at one of Brighton’s finest venues, the Concorde 2.
A larger congregation will happily rejoice triumphantly to material from his new album, About The Light – in all good record stores from 18th January. For fans of Gruff Rhys, Elbow and maybe even King Creosote, Mason will hopefully deliver some rousing choruses and fantastic indie pop rhythms, wrapped up with a cosy blanket of soul-searching goodness. Doing dreamy as well as he can do swaggering, how much more convincing do you need to turn up? Some extra tickets have been released for the new date: snap them up while you can!
