Bad Pond Festival announce 2019 line-up

After a terrific 2018 edition that took place over two days at The Arch, the team at Small Pond Recordings have gone bigger and better for their 2019 edition. Taking place at Brighton’s Concorde 2 over the weekend of 21st April, the line-up is certainly fitting of the bigger venue.

Dream Wife – Concorde 2, Brighton – 30th October 2018

“Brighton tonight, where it all began”, so said Dream Wife on Twitter before their homecoming gig at Concorde 2. Indeed the birthing ground of the group, having formed at Brighton University originally as an art project, the trio brought some art-punk magic to the iconic seaside venue. Playing their first Brighton headline set since the release of their terrific eponymous debut album, it’s difficult to describe Dream Wife as anything other than vital, fierce and political luminaries.

Idles – Concorde 2, Brighton – 27th October 2018

This being one of the most highly-anticipated gigs of the year, from one of the most important bands of recent times, expectations were understandably elevated tonight, for what had been an immediate sell out when tickets went on sale a few months ago. Idles duly delivered, in what was a riotous celebration of music and communion, led by the exuberant singer/lyricist Joe Talbot.

Superorganism – Concorde 2, Brighton – 28th October 2018

After their triumphant debut Brighton show at The Haunt back in March, and subsequently huge showcase at The Great Escape Festival, we weren’t expecting to see the multi-national collective back in Brighton so soon. Nevertheless, their return at Concorde 2 was another joyous experience with the band and one that further reinforces the magnificent nature of their debut record. Playing every single track from the album, this was a brilliantly bizarre showcase of the eponymous record that wonderfully closed the chapter on their outstanding first period as a band.
