Sophie Ellis-Bexter returns with orchestra for Greatest Hits tour

Best known for her vocal contributions to the Spiller dance smash ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’, her collaboration with Brighton’s Freemasons on ‘Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)’, and the worldwide hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, Sophie Ellis-Bexter is a musical chameleon, who started her career with indie-rockers Theaudience back in the late 90s.

She has incorporated several genres over the course of her career, from her debut album Read My Lips through to 2016’s Familia, reaping success wherever she goes.

She has just announced a 2019 UK tour, including a date at the Brighton Dome on 7 June, performing her hits with an orchestra, in collaboration with musician and producer Ed Harcourt, and orchestral arranger Amy Langley.

“It’s so exciting to be performing hits from my entire career with full orchestral arrangements for the first time!” says Sophie. “This is a bit of a dream come true. I’m especially delighted that I get to do some proper full-on live disco with strings!”

Below is a live performance of the first single from the forthcoming Greatest Hits album, ‘Love Is You’.
