Inevitable, really. After more than 20 years away, Sleeper reformed last year, dipped their toes in the water, found they liked it, and their fans liked it. Now they’ve decided to record a new album, which is being crowdfunded, their first since 1997’s Pleased To Meet You.
Back in their Britpop heyday Sleeper released three top ten albums, and eight Top 40 hits in their short but productive indie-pop career. Fronted by musician-turned-author-turned-musician Louise Wener, and which also includes her partner, and BIMM Creative Performance Coordinator Andy Maclure, and fellow BIMM employee Jon Stewart, Sleeper are booked to play numerous festivals and gigs in the coming months, including Bearded Theory and Victorious.
