The now established Love Supreme festival, which has enjoyed six years of stellar growth since it first appeared on the scene back in 2013, has come up with the idea of Supreme Standards, as a way of supporting new UK and international jazz, funk and soul artists.
There are three elements to Supreme Standards. Firstly, there is a new monthly residency, at Ghost Notes in London, beginning on 31st January next year. The first show features the Tenderlonious-led jazz quartet, Ruby Rushton and Emma-Jean Thackray. Second, there is a new podcast, hosted by Tina Edwardes of Worldwide FM, and which will feature guest artists, the first one with Sampa The Great. Finally, Supreme Standards is a new website dedicated to interviews, articles, news, guest mixes and more.
Love Supreme has been nominated for Best Medium-Sized Festival at the 2018 UK Festival Awards (winners announced 6th December), with the winners decided by public vote. And the festival returns for its seventh edition next year, at Glynde House, East Sussex, 5th-7th July.
