Kurt Vile announces new album

Following his well-received high profile album collaboration with Courtney Barnett last year, Lotta Sea Lice, Kurt Vile has announced details of his new album, Bottle It In, to be released on 12th October.

A track from the album, ‘Bassackwards’, has been released to accompany the news, following the release of ‘Loading Zones’, an ode to the parking challenges in Vile’s native Philadelphia. As Vile sees it, ‘Bassackwards’ is how he sees through world through his eyes: “I was on the ground circa Planet Earth, but out of sorts / But I snapped back, baby, just in time to jot it down.”

Recorded over a long period of time, and in various studio locations, Bottle It In features contributions from Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, Lucius, Mary Lattimore, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, and Cass McCombs.

Vile will visit the UK later this year, as part of an extensive global tour, with support from The Violators (Rob Laakso, Kyle Spence, and Jesse Trbovich), including a date at Concorde 2, Brighton, on Guy Fawkes Night, 5th November.
