Brighton-based music blog Hidden Herd became one of the most impressive promoters on the South Coast in 2018, bringing the likes of Pizzagirl, Wyldest, Childcare and Swimming Tapes to the city, in addition to the inaugural Hidden Herd Festival. Thankfully, they show no signs of slowing down in 2019 and, if anything, look like they’re upping the ante with a brand-new series of gigs called ‘Sptlght’ which promises to, “Put a spotlight on some of the UK’s most exciting new artists.”
Taking place between 8th February and 26th April, the series of gigs consists of four different events, all taking place at Brighton’s Green Door Store. The first of which will be headlined by Ed the Dog, with Free Money, Talk Show and Lacuna Bloome each taking support slots, while the second edition, taking place on 2nd March, will see performances by Hey Charlie, Dead Naked Hippies, Sad Boys Club and Currls.
The 22nd March edition will see a headline performance from Swimming Girls, who impressed us at last year’s The Great Escape festival, while Comforts, Moon Panda and Pollon will also appear. Excitingly, the final edition, taking place on 26th April, shines a light on Brighton talent with The Vegan Leather headlining along with sets by Circe and La Lune.
Boasting an incredible amount of up-and-coming talent, this could be Hidden Herd’s greatest project yet. Tickets are available on DICE.
