It’s been a pretty quiet year for Brighton duo Hanya, after they released double A-side, Post-Heather, at the back end of 2017. However, now they’re back in the form of ‘Radio’, a slice of brilliant, brooding shoegaze-inspired pop.
Speaking of the single, lead singer Heather Sheret told us that, “’Radio’ was written at a time of big stomach churning foreboding. It reflects thinking that something external can help at a time like that, like moving somewhere new, meeting someone, stupid vices, anything that we reach out for to give us some feeling that shitty times can be fixed. This was one of the earliest tracks we wrote together, and every time we play it, it takes me back there.”
The track is part of an EP, which will be released on 23rd November. Additionally, the two-piece will be launching the new release with a free show at the Rialto Theatre on 25th November, alongside fellow Brighton rockers Blush and Londoners Zooz, in what is sure to be a brilliant night of lo-fi goodness.
