Fenne Lily has just released a Spotify single consisting of a reworked live studio version of ‘More Than You Know’ as well as a cover of Angel Olsen’s ‘Unfucktheworld’.
‘More Than You Know’ originally featured on Fenne’s acclaimed debut album On Hold, which was released earlier this year. Speaking about the experience, Fenne says, “Revisiting ‘More Than You Know’ alongside my band gave me the chance to see it in a stronger light; to take something I wrote feeling fragile and recreate it with the mind of someone more certain.
“Angel Olsen’s ‘Unfucktheworld’ has been one of my favourite pieces of songwriting since I was a kid. It’s timeless and simple, yet I’ve always wanted to hear a longer, louder, more unhinged iteration of it, so we made one. The title seems more relevant than ever – we’re living in a messed up time, so I’m seeing this cover as a war cry, both personal and generational.”
Having spent the best part of 2018 touring, including sets at Green Man, Wilderness, and Festival No. 6 this weekend, Fenne and her band (bassist Joe Sherrin of Slonk / Milo’s Planes and drummer Dan Lane) will arrive in London to headline The Borderline on 12th October.
Fenne will then embark on a run of solo shows supporting Lucy Dacus across the UK, including a date at The Haunt, Brighton, 29th October.
