Disclosure have been very quiet since they released their Moog For Love EP halfway through 2016. At the start of 2018, though, the pair revealed that they’d begun work on the follow up to 2015’s Caracal.
At the time they also announced that 2018 would be a rest year for their Wild Life Festival, the pair saying, “With a busy recording schedule ahead as we embark on album number three we’re going to give the green grass of Shoreham Airport a break throughout 2018 and come back bigger and better in 2019”.
‘Moonlight’ is five-minutes of moody disco-inflected Daft Punk/US house that samples ’When I Fall In Love’, a track by Swedish a capella band The Real Group. Speaking on the new track, Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence said, “’Moonlight’ was written and arranged at Guy’s house, sampling Swedish a capella group The Real Group’s cover of the classic ‘When I Fall In Love’. We wanted to bring some Disclosure deep house chords and basslines to the forefront.”
Fans would only have to wait a mere 24 hours for more teasers from the duo though, as they swiftly followed ‘Moonlight’ with another tune, ‘Where Angels Fear To Tread’. With sampled jazzy beats and vocals, it ends up sounding like the soundtrack to some forgotten old movie. This follow-up track will be the perfect accompaniment to those lazy late summer holidays, whilst raising expectations for the groups next album to the roof.
