Fusing elements of electronica sublimely with an in-depth classical knowledge, C Duncan became a household name in the UK with his experimental gaze. Signed to Brighton’s Fat Cat Records he has, excitingly, announced a brand-new album and this time things are set to be different.
On his previous two albums – Architect and The Midnight Sun – the Scottish multi-instrumentalist worked from his bedroom studio, and produced and engineered the records himself. Things are different for Health, however, his first album in three years and his third in total. Working alongside producer Craig Potter, of Elbow fame, this new record explores themes of love, anxiety and sexuality and is described as “A deeply personal record that delves into a world Duncan had previously felt uneasy exploring.”
Alongside the announcement of Health, he’s also dropped its lead single ‘Impossible’. A quite brilliantly addictive pop song, with a wonky synthline and euphoria-tinged vocals, it’s an excellent reminder of just how impressive a pop artist C Duncan is. It’s certainly wonderful to have the talented Scotsman back, and Health will be released on 29th March.
