We’ve been aboard the Submariner hype for a little while now, having seen them over a year ago now at their Green Door Store headline show as well as interviewing the four-piece at the end of last year. The indie-pop quartet look like they have all the ingredients to truly breakout of Brighton and they’ve proven it with latest single ‘T.O.Y.S’.
Musically, the indie-pop jangler is a lighter side to the band, who have showcased their ruminative side on early single ‘Colour’ and ‘Closer’, but its melancholia still seeps through from frontman Jimmy Herrity’s almost classically 00s indie tones. It’s clear that this single is just another stepping stone to Submariner’s success. Pure indie-pop brilliance.
