The inaugural Cro Cro Land Festival is set to take Croydon by storm this April, with an independent, multi-stage all-day festival curated by culture bloggers The Croydonist. The festival will take place on 6th April with a hand-picked line-up of new and upcoming acts drawn from indie and alternative rock scenes.
Croydon’s Lanswdowne Hotel will be transformed for the day to accommodate 30+ bands across three stages and a mini food market. With Cro Cro Land, the area’s punk-era heritage of a vibrant live music scene looks set to get the reboot it has long deserved.
Their first wave of announcements got us pretty excited too, with Brightonsfinest favourites Blood Red Shoes sitting in good company alongside The Lovely Eggs, Nova Twins, Bang Bang Romeo, Bugeye and many more for this celebration of grassroots music; with a heavy leaning towards the sort of guitar-based bands that have been thriving in an increasingly healthy looking UK indie underground.
Tickets have been flying out, with early bird tickets already sold out since the festival was announced late last year. Croydon, it seems, is culturally on the up and up, making this festival well worth the short train ride for Brighton music fans.
