The Levellers’ Beautiful Days festival (17th-19th May) line-up has been announced, and it’s a stunning gathering of the old and new that will almost certainly ensure another sell out this year.
Headlining the main stage this year will be Manic Street Preachers, with one more to be announced in June. The Levellers, as is traditional, close the festival out on the Sunday.
Also announced for the main stage are Gogol Bordello, Shed Seven, who recently released their first album in 16 years, indie-rock band Feeder, the sensational rhythm and blues band Vintage Trouble, British Sea Power, rock band The Wildhearts, Dutch blues and funk band My Baby and Dreadzone.
Headlining The Big Top stage on Friday is the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega, Arizona-bred alt-rock band Calexico on Saturday, and Sunday is folk legend Richard Thompson with his electric trio show.
One of the best independent festivals in the UK, Beautiful Days (named after The Levellers’ hit song ‘Beautiful Day’) prides itself on a being a music-loving, family-friendly affair, that takes great strides in ensuring prices are generally below festival norms.
