Apocalytic shoegazers Nothing announce new album and Brighton date

Following the announcement of their new album, Dance On The Blacktop, coming 24th August, Philadelphia post-rock shoegazer’s Nothing have announced a European tour that includes a date in Brighton at Patterns, 2nd December.

The first release from the album, ‘Zero Day’, is partnered with a cinematic project about exploitation and paradoxical enlightenment written by frontman Domenic Palermo and produced by celebrated producer John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, The Breeders, Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile).

Featuring stories of self-loathing, self-destruction, and a general disdain for humanity and its “insignificant” role in Palermo’s vision of the universe, the songs on Dance On The Blacktop are told through the eyes of the recently diagnosed frontman, suggesting he is dealing with the early stages of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), a neurodegenerative disease found in people with serious head injuries.
