Award-winning Malian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rokia Traoré has been named as the 11th Brighton Festival Guest Director, following in the footsteps of the likes of David Shrigley (2018), Kate Tempest (2017), Laurie Anderson (2016), and Brian Eno (2010).
A tour featuring the music of tragic singer Amy Winehouse is being planned for 2019, to include a highlight appearance of Amy herself, in hologram form. The shows creators plan to use the hologram with recordings of Amy’s voice, backed by a live band.

After seven years as a Grassroots Music Venue in Brighton, we’re sad to see that Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar have announced plans to close on 31st December, finishing with one last New Year's Eve Party. Representatives from the venue say, “We have tried all options to keep going but there are far too many issues that cannot be resolved to make carrying on viable. For now though we will be planning a lot of VERY BIG parties as we plan to go out with an almighty BANG!”
