Spiritualized announce new album

The legendary space-rockers Spiritualized are back with their eighth album, And Nothing Hurt, out in September, their first one since 2012’s Sweet Heart Sweet Light, and to be released on Brighton’s Bella Union label.

J Spaceman, aka Jason Pierce, is back at the helm, and looking the part on the album’s sleeve, a lone figure, suited up and immersed in interplanetary gear whilst walking across unmapped terrain. Expect some of their trademark transcendent, psychedelic sounds, wrapped up in layers of cinematic textures, albeit this time made on a laptop. Jason says, “Making this record on my own sent me more mad than anything I’ve done before. We’d been playing these big shows and I really wanted to capture that sound we were making but, without the funds to do so, I had to find a way to work within the constraints of what money I had. So I bought a laptop and made it all in a little room in my house.”

Just a few dates have been announced so far, including London’s Eventim Apollo, 21st September, with more expected soon.
