Fort Process to invade Newhaven Fort

The rather magnificent Sussex gem Newhaven Fort is the home for Fort Process again this year, a one-day sound art and music event that utilises the extraordinary resonant spaces of the fort. This third edition of the festival will feature performances, installations, talks, workshops and live art, and is part of an extended season that runs from July to October with events at De La Warr Pavilion, Cafe Oto and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.

Acts from around the world will congregate on 22nd September including Rhys Chatham, Jez Riley French & Phoebe Riley Law, Tetsuya Umeda, Max Eastley, Alice Eldridge and Chris Kiefer.

Newhaven Fort is the last of a long series of defences built on the cliffs overlooking Seaford Bay, dating back to the Iron Age, and was a vital element in the defence against the very real threat of German invasion during World War II. The only invading forces nowadays are one of esoteric, and experimental sounds.
