  • Phoria – Interview 2018

Phoria – Interview 2018 Phoria – Interview 2018 "We're big, we're heavenly, and we're ethereal." So say Phoria, the Brighton-based five-piece who are about to play their first gig since August of last year, headlining the Brightonsfinest Alternative Escape showcase at the beautiful St Mary's Church on Saturday 19th May, joining the likes of The Fiction Aisle, Her's, Trudy and The Romance, SJ Brett, Charles Watson, and Wild Front.
  • Phoria release new video

Phoria release new video Brighton-based ethereal rockers Phoria have released a new live recorded video of a track from their last album Volition. Recently filmed in their Hove recording and rehearsal base, ‘Yourself Still’ is classic Phoria: atmospheric, epic, magical, haunting, and uplifting. They are currently working on new material for a future release.
  • The Alternative Escape announces line-up

The Alternative Escape announces line-up The Alternative Escape is to The Great Escape what the Brighton Fringe is to the Brighton Festival. Open access, rather than programmed. However, that doesn't mean that the quality isn't there. Indeed, because The Great Escape is relatively restricted in terms of numbers, The Alternative Escape offers great opportunities for labels, management companies, media organisations (such as yours truly), promoters, agencies and the like to organise their own shows, in venues they see fit but still have the benefits of being promoted within The Great Escape publicity machine, via their website and printed programme. Many acts crossover, playing both TGE and TAE within the three days of the event. So, the quality is often very high.

  • Phoria to headline Brightonsfinest Alternative Escape Showcase

Phoria to headline Brightonsfinest Alternative Escape Showcase Brightonsfinest is thrilled and excited to announce that Phoria will be headlining our free Alternative Escape event on Saturday 19th May at the stunning St Mary's Church (Kemptown, Brighton) - doors 2.30pm. Following the success of their glorious debut album Volition (2016), which continues to get over 1 million monthly plays on Spotify, this will be Phoria's first gig in 2018. For several months Phoria have been very busy working in the studio and this performance will be a unique opportunity to hear their new songs for the first time.
  • Together The People Festival 2016

Together The People Festival 2016 Together The People Festival 2016 Brighton and the surrounding area has been bedevilled by the lack of a successful music festival since Stanmer Park’s Essential Festival folded its wings back in the early 2000s. Beachdown, Meadowlands, Loop et al never made it far, and many others couldn't get past the planning stages, let alone the mountain of alcohol and caffeine-fueled 'let's-organise-a-festival' conversations in pubs and cafes. Expensive things these festivals; even the very best and most well-known have to keep an ultra tight rein on costs to balance the books. The mother of them all, Glastonbury, draws a relatively small profit each and every year, relying heavily on small wages and an army of volunteers to carry it through (although it still gives a sizeable donation to charitable...
  • Phoria - Volition

Phoria - Volition Phoria - Volition Brighton’s Phoria have been simmering upon the electronic-pop surface for a while, biding their time before releasing any content in an LP format. Since relocating around the country, they settled in Brighton back in 2009 before resting and forging plans for releases; the forging process took a while as, being the masters of their craft that they are, they obsessed over every last detail. Having previously released a flurry of EPs in the form of 2013’s Bloodworksand 2014’s Display, music fans were given an insight into the decaying, throbbing electronic pulse that...
  • Phoria - Display EP

Phoria - Display EP Phoria’s brand new EP ‘Display’ has already managed to receive rave reviews and considerable attention and after being hailed as ‘the most blogged about band’ at the moment - Brighton has managed to do it again and produce from its shores another stunning band with a very bright future ahead of them.
  • Phoria – The Haunt - 21st June 2014

Phoria Phoria – The Haunt - 21st June 2014 After recently releasing their brand new EP ‘Display’ - Phoria are now my favourite band of 2014. Having seen them play during The Great Escape Festival at St. Mary’s Church I was wondering whether it would be possible for them to top their performance due to the magical nature the venue as well as the beauty of the surroundings, natural reverb and acoustics which made the perfect setting for Phoria’s musical soundscapes. However, Phoria seem able to grace any stage and perform as confidently and effortlessly as they would in their own living room.
  • Phoria - The Hope - 1st August 2013

Phoria Phoria - The Hope - 1st August 2013 This month’s experimental/electronic themed Breakout Night was a raging success with a line-up to shout about! Fox In The City kicked off the night with their Progressive/instrumental and electronic soundscapes. A fairly new band on the Brighton scene, Fox In The City are making a name for themselves and we’re not surprised. They played a fantastic set with a bountiful use of interesting rhythms and chord sequences. Their track ‘[One]’ was certainly a favorite of mine, with the catchy guitar hook beginning the song and resonating through the crowd at the end. Fox In The City’s debut EP [One] is out now & available on their website.
