Jack White – Brighton Centre – Tuesday 16th October 2018

This is the real deal. Arguably one of the finest rock guitarists of all time (and certainly of the 21st century), Jack White lands in Brighton for the first time in years. He needs little introduction of course, but in case you have been living in a cave somewhere…

Founder member of The White Stripes with Meg, their brand of blues-infused garage rock struck a chord across the world - heralding in a whole new scene alongside the The Strokes. Hits like ‘Hotel Yorba’, ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ and the mighty, world-conquering ‘Seven Nation Army’ propelled this strange duo to global icons. More than that, their live shows became nights of legend - Jack seeming to skip between instruments (and songs) mid-song to take up a new track, Meg always keeping track with her deceptively simple-looking drumming style.

When they disbanded in 2011, Jack quickly moved onto The Raconteurs - a indie/americana supergroup also featuring Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. Alongside that, there was The Dead Weather with The Kills’ singer Allison Mosshart. On top of THOSE, there were also his solo projects - of which this year’s Boarding House Reach is the third release. A strange, meandering record at times, it nonetheless fits in perfectly with White’s incredible canon. Musical geniuses and legends don’t come to town every day, this is not one to miss!

Tickets : £43.50 Brighton Centre
